Well it's Halloween and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni seems like to perfect anime for today.

Rena Ryuugu is a cute, garbage collecting resident of the quaint village Hinamizawa, who like most people in this anime occassionally brutally murders her friends.

Astha is a Metuselah living in the New Human Empire she is the Viscountess of Odessa and Duchess of Kiev.

She is easily angered but rarely physically lashes out, being referred to as a vampire is one of the things that angers her as she considers in a racist slur. Although initially having a low opinion of humans though she becomes more accepting of them.

 Yuuko Ichihara from CLAMP's xxxholic cosplay by Dei-Chan. 

Yuuko Ichihara is a witch able to send people through dimensions and grant wishes at a price. For Watanuki she gives him freedom from the evil spirits that follow him, in return he must work for her cooking, cleaning and doing tasks she considers beneath her.

Absolutely fantastic cosplay by Dei-Chan. Love the wig and the dress. Yuuko's outfits are beautiful and it's great to see really good cosplays of them.

Yoruichi Shihouin is a shinigami and the former 2nd division Captain and Commander in Chief of the Onmitsukidō, in the anime and manga Bleach.

Yoruichi first appears in her cat form and helps Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends, during the Soul Society arc she reveals her true form to Ichigo who is shocked to discover she is female.

While usually teasing and playful, she can be mature when required.

Kagz - Yuuko Ichihara from xxxHolic

Yūko/Yuuko Ichihara from CLAMP's xxxHolic, has many names, most commonly "The Dimension Witch" due to her role in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. She is a sorceress who grants wishes for a price, which is equal in value to the wish (no more no less!).


Yuuko never wears the same thing twice and matches her hair accessories to her clothes. This costume is from xxxHolic volume 13 cover art.

Tayuya was a kunoichi (female ninja) of the Sound Four, sent to bring Sasuke from Konaha to Orochimaru. When fighting Shikamaru she releases her cursed seal to level 2. Her only weapon is the demonic flute, used to cast genjutsu and control her Doki (3 demons summoned by Tayuya) by playing different melodies.

Lady, who's real name is Mary, is an excellent fighter despite being human. Her signature weapon is the Kalina Ann, a rocket launcher which she uses in Devil May Cry 3, 4 and the spin off anime series. Kiwi5frog's replica is awesome.

Heterochromia (a genetic condition leading to two different coloured eyes) runs in Lady's family. Love the use of contacts to get that right!

kiwi5frog - Lust from Full Metal Alchemist

Lust is a Homunculus who as her name suggests is very sexy (despite being approximately 250 years old), she uses this along with her intelligence to manipulate alchemists into creating a Philosopher's Stones and be controlled by Father.

As well as her abilities as a homunculus Lust has the unique ability to extend her fingertips into long thin blades which cut through anything with ease.

Her Ouroboros mark that all homunculi carry is located just above her breasts on her sternum.

kiwi5frog - Lady Deathstrike - X Men

kiwi5frog cosplaying Yuriko Oyama also known as Lady Deathstrike from the Marvel Universe, is a cyborg with adamantium talons and superhuman strength and speed.

Yuriko Oyama also appeared in the movie X Men 2: X-Men United as a brain washed mutant, her costume was changed to a sexier leather catsuit and her back story wasn't discussed.

Anya Alstreim is a Britannian Knightmare pilot from the anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the rebellion R2 (Code Geass: Hangyaku no Rurūshu R2)

At 15 she is the youngest ever to be made a Knight of the Round and is the Knight of six.


Due to suffering from amnesia she has little faith in her memory so constantly takes photos with her camera phone to update her blog. 

Anya's personality is distant and finds most things boring. She is unforgiving in battle.

Shattered Song - Princess Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin

Shattered Song cosplaying Princess Jasmine from Walt Disney's Aladdin.

Princess Jasmine is daughter of the Sultan, but wishes to see life outside the palace walls so runs away and meets Aladdin, a street urchin. She also made an appearance in the game Kingdom Hearts.

Aladdin was my favourite Disney film as a child, I even owned a Princess Jasmine barbie doll, this cosplay by Shattered Song definitely does the character justice! The details in this costume are fantastic, all the bead work, the necklace, and the wig! It's amazing. A true Disney Princess.

C.C. is the mysterious girl that saves Lelouch Lamperouge from some Britannian soldiers, she gifts him with the power of a Geass, which she calls "the power of kings". Her condition is that he grants her wish.
During the second season (R2) she assumes control of the Black Knights.

C.C. loves pizza especially from Pizza Hut (who sponsor the show) she often orders it to Lelouch's house. Kallen and Lelouch frequently call her "pizza-girl" because of it.

C.C. is also often called a witch due to her abilities.

Tea is Better - Miku Hatsune from Vocaloid (Dark Woods Circus)

Miku Hatsune is a synthesised singing voice from the software Vocaloid 2.  We've featured rather a lot of Miku cosplays!

       "Ooh the deformity"

This Miku cosplay is from the song Dark Woods Circus, which also features several other Vocaloids. It's a dark song about the cruelty in circuses and freak shows like those during Victorian times, and the suffering and loneliness of the 'perfomers'.

This man ran the 2009 New York City Marathon, that's 26.2 miles / 42.2 km dressed as the Eiffel Tower
as if running a marathon isn't hard enough...

So admittedly it isn't cosplay, but it sure is impressive dedication! It's also a good costume.

The playable character and heroine of the Pokemon Black and White series of games, named Touko トウコ in the Japanese and Hilda in the English version.
That's definately the worst player character name in the English games yet.

Kipi - Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann

This is the final post in our Kipi week long special to celebrate her 23rd birthday last week. We hope you've enjoyed it! Today is a double post, Black Rock Shooter from the Black Rock Shooter OVA, and Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

Yoko Littner is a formidable fighter, she has a large arsenal of weapons, most famous being her sniper rifle. She says the reason for her skimpy clothing is because it restricts her movements during combat. Yoko's dream is become a teacher.

Today is the last day of our Kipi special to celebrate her 23rd birthday last Thursday, so to finish today is a double post: first Black Rock ★ Shooter from the Black Rock Shooter OVA of the same name, and second Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann.

Black ★ Rock Shooter lives in a desolate world, her counter part in our world is Kuroi Mato, an excitable high school student.

Kuroi Mato and Black Rock Shooter merge to save Mato's best friend Takanashi Yomi who has been possessed by Dead Master and disappeared from our world. It's a touching story of friendship between two girls.

The chains are really cool, but it's a pity there's no blazing blue eye, though that would be very difficult to do without photoshop.

Kipi - Asuka Langley Soryu from Neon Genesis Evangelion

Asukua Langley Soryu from the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise is the 14 year old pilot of the EVA Unit 02. The EVAs are large mechas used for fighting against Angels, beings that attack Tokyo-3.

Asuka is only 1/4 Japanese and was raised in Germany. Despite German being her native language she speaks fluent Japanese.
She is very proud of being a pilot, and frequently wears her A10 Nerve clips in her hair to show this off.
Her pride and loud fiery nature hides a traumatised and insecure girl. She cannot cope with failure, and reacts badly to it.

Another Chi (Chii) cosplay, which is just a pretty as this one we previously featured.

In Chobits everyone who's anyone has a persocom - androids that are walking talking computers.

Chi is a chobit, an advanced persocom with the ability to feel true emotion. However when Hideki first finds her discarded in the trash she can only say one word - "Chi", and remembers nothing of her past. Hideki names her Chi and must teach her how to function, as she starts to learn about her past.
