Kiwi5frog cosplaying Lady from the Devil May Cry series.

Lady, who's real name is Mary, is an excellent fighter despite being human. Her signature weapon is the Kalina Ann, a rocket launcher which she uses in Devil May Cry 3, 4 and the spin off anime series. Kiwi5frog's replica is awesome.

Heterochromia (a genetic condition leading to two different coloured eyes) runs in Lady's family. Love the use of contacts to get that right!

Kanda Midori - C.C. from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Kanda Midori cosplaying C.C. from Code Geass: Lelouch of the rebellion (Code Geass: Hangyaku no Rurūshu)


C.C. is the mysterious girl that saves Lelouch Lamperouge from some Britannian soldiers, she gifts him with the power of a Geass, which she calls "the power of kings". Her condition is that he grants her wish.
During the second season (R2) she assumes control of the Black Knights.

C.C. loves pizza especially from Pizza Hut (who sponsor the show) she often orders it to Lelouch's house. Kallen and Lelouch frequently call her "pizza-girl" because of it.

C.C. is also often called a witch due to her abilities.

Tea is Better - Miku Hatsune from Vocaloid (Dark Woods Circus)

Miku Hatsune is a synthesised singing voice from the software Vocaloid 2.  We've featured rather a lot of Miku cosplays!

       "Ooh the deformity"

This Miku cosplay is from the song Dark Woods Circus, which also features several other Vocaloids. It's a dark song about the cruelty in circuses and freak shows like those during Victorian times, and the suffering and loneliness of the 'perfomers'.

Koyuki - Female Heroine / Lead Character from Pokemon Black and white

The playable character and heroine of the Pokemon Black and White series of games, named Touko トウコ in the Japanese and Hilda in the English version.
That's definately the worst player character name in the English games yet.

This scene recreates a moment in the game where as the player you ride the ferris wheel with your rival N in Nimbasa City.

Zahnzee - Elesa / Kamitsure from Pokemon Black and White

Kamitsure (Elesa in the English translation) is a model and Nymbassa City's gym leader in the Pokemon White and Black games.

She is the 4th gym leader you challenge and specialises in Electric type pokemon.

Elesa / Kamitsure is also a supermodel, nicknamed "the shining beauty"

Kipi - Black Rock Shooter from Black Rock Shooter

Today is the last day of our Kipi special to celebrate her 23rd birthday last Thursday, so to finish today is a double post: first Black Rock ★ Shooter from the Black Rock Shooter OVA of the same name, and second Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann.

Black ★ Rock Shooter lives in a desolate world, her counter part in our world is Kuroi Mato, an excitable high school student.

Kuroi Mato and Black Rock Shooter merge to save Mato's best friend Takanashi Yomi who has been possessed by Dead Master and disappeared from our world. It's a touching story of friendship between two girls.

The chains are really cool, but it's a pity there's no blazing blue eye, though that would be very difficult to do without photoshop.

Kipi - Chi from Chobits

Another Chi (Chii) cosplay, which is just a pretty as this one we previously featured.

In Chobits everyone who's anyone has a persocom - androids that are walking talking computers.

Chi is a chobit, an advanced persocom with the ability to feel true emotion. However when Hideki first finds her discarded in the trash she can only say one word - "Chi", and remembers nothing of her past. Hideki names her Chi and must teach her how to function, as she starts to learn about her past.

Kipi - Misa Amane from Death Note

 Another Misa Amane of Death Note cosplay by Kipi.

Unlike the previous Misa cosplay we've feature by Kipi, this one reflects Misa's darker side.

The claws are what make this cosplay stand out, and turn an otherwise relatively simple costume into some really impressive.

The outfit is from the Death Note manga Volume 4 cover.

Kipi - Lenalee Lee from D.Gray Man

 Lenalee Lee from the anime and manga D.Gray Man is a 16 year old exorcist with the Black Order.
 
Exorcists use innocence, an anti akuma weapon, to battle the Millennium Earl. The manifestation of innocence is unique to each exorcist.
Lenalee's innocence type is initially equipment called Dark Boots which increased her speed and strength.

Lenalee was forced into the order against her wishes and had to be restrained due to numerous escape attempts, but she started to settle in once her older brother Komui joined as the Science Department Supervisor to see her again.

This costume is Lenalee's 1st Black Order uniform (and my favourite!)

Continuing with this weeks Kipi Birthday Special, today's post is Kipi's cosplay Miku Hatsune...

Miku Hatsune is a virtual diva, a computer synthesised singing programme. She is the best selling  Vocaloid 2.

As well as her popular songs, she has been featured on a racing car and had a HRP-4C android modelled after her.

Kipi - Amane Misa from Death Note

 

Misa Amane, or "Misa Misa" as she calls herself, is the second Kira in the manga and anime Death Note.

 Her Death Note belonged to a shinigami called Gelus / Jealous who died when he saved Misa's life from a stalker. His Death Note was then given to Misa by the shinigami Rem. Misa used her Death Note to aid Light Yagami in his quest to transform the world into a "better place" after he punished her parent's murderer.

Misa proves useful to Light as she has the Shinigami Eyes which allows her to see the name of every person she meets. Light intended to use this to find L's true name.

Misa has a cute and outgoing personality, that is completely at odds with her role as the second Kira. Despite this she never falters in her devotion to Light.

Kipi - Alice from Alice in Wonderland

"Curiouser and curiouser!"

Alice is main character of Lewis Caroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and iconic piece of English literature that although first published in 1865 is still influential today. There have been many adaptations, most famously Disney's 1951 cartoon film, and more recently Tim Burton's more gothic take on the story.


The image of a blonde Alice in a pretty blue dress is instantly recognisable. It's popular in cosplay and in the lolita fashion where Alice themed motifs and prints are common.

The dress is so cute, and the ruffle details make it a little different to the standard blue dress and white apron.

Koyuki - Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)

"Your bitterness I shall dispel"

Enma Ai is the main protagonist of Jigoku shoujo / Hell Girl.


If a person wishes to seek revenge on someone they have a grudge against, at midnight they can access the website Jigoku Tsushin (Hell Hotline). By entering into a contract with Enma Ai they can chose to send that person to hell, but when they die their soul will also be ferried to hell.

Cosplay by Koyuki. She has that slightly creepy blank stare that Ai maintains when ferrying souls to hell.

The location is perfect, it really looks like something from the anime.

~Cheza~ - Chi from Chobits

Chi (Chii) is a female persocom found by Hideki in a pile of trash. He takes her home and names her Chi, the only word she's able to say.


However Chi is a chobit, a more advanced persocom rumoured to have the ability of genuine emotions.

She was created by Ichiro Mihara as a daughter, since his wife was unable to have children.

She also appears in Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicle.

Cute cosplay by ~Cheza~. Her expression is very innocent - just like Chi's. I love the persocom ears, they are the best I've seen.

Kanda Midori - Saya Takagi from Highschool of the Dead

Saya Takagi is one of the main group of survivors in High School of the Dead. She is the daughter of an influential politician.
Rescued at the start of the zombie outbreak by Kohta, a teenage boy obsessed with guns, she goes from rejecting him to respecting him.

Her personality in the beginning is stuck-up, due to her high intelligence and important family. She considers herself always right and used to scold Takashi for skipping class.
Despite this she cares deeply for her friends, especially her childhood friend Takashi.

It's is a perfect Saya expression! This cosplay really captures her personality. We recently featured another HOTD cosplay by Kanda Midori, she is definitely one of my favourite cosplayers!

Unknown - The Red Queen Iracebeth from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

"Off with their heads!"

The Red Queen (portrayed by Helena Bohem Carter) is ruler of Underland, Wonderland's true name. Her real name is Iracebeth. She stole the throne from her sister The White Queen, who she is very jealous of to the point of extreme paranoia.

In the Tim Burton's 2010 film "Alice in Wonderland" Helena Bohem Carter's head was digitally increased to 3 times it's natural size.

Lovely cosplay (cosplayer unknown). It must be difficult to avoid the bold make up looking like a clown's face paint, but this cosplayer manages it.

Cerezos - Kanaria from Rozen Maiden

Kanaria is the second Rozen Maiden. A doll with an artificial spirit like Kirakishou.

She considers herself stealthy, staking out Jun's house with binoculars. Her attempts to attack her sisters fail comedically, despite this she is a good fighter who uses her violin to emit destructive sound waves.
She refers to herself in the third person, and ends her sentences in "Kashira" (I wonder?/Maybe?/Perhaps?) similar to her sister Suiseiseki's habit of ending her sentences with "desu".


Cosplay by Cerezos, it's bright, colourful and cute - just like Kanaria. The violin and parasol complete the costumes.

Kirana - Miku Hatsune from Vocaloid

Miku Hatsune is a Vocaloid - a persona for the voice synthesising software Vocaloid 2. Miku has been a success in her own right, a "virtual diva" she has released her own popular songs with an album reaching No.1 in the Oricon weekly album charts. With the use of holographic projections Miku has performed live concerts.
Her personality is often viewed by fans as being cheerful, she is sometimes depicted and being jealous and spoilt in her videos.

Cosplay by Kirana. This outfit is from "Love is War" a song about heart break.
The photos of the hair blowing in the wig look stunning. The bleak setting compliments the emotions of the song.

Sorano Suzu - Kirakishou from Rozen Maiden

Kirakishou is the seventh Rozen Maiden, a living doll.
Shinku describes her as:

"Her left eye can see everything, but reflects nothing, while her right eye is an empty hole, with a white rose growing out of it."

Initially she lacks a physical body and must absorb another doll to enter the real world.

In the manga her weapon is the ability to control white rose vine to restrain and lash out at her opponents.

She is driven close to insanity by lack of physical existence and is extremely jealous of her sisters.

Dismaldreary - Mirana from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Mirana is the White Queen, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, who in Tim Burton's 2010 film - Alice in Wonderland has had her place as ruler of Underland (Wonderland's true name) stolen by her sister the Red Queen, who then banished Mirana from Underland. Having vowed to never harm another living being she is powerless to act and awaits a champion to free Underland from the Red Queen.

It is hinted that despite her kindness she can be as terrifying and cruel as her sister, but fearful that this is her true nature does her best to control it.

A gorgeous cosplay by Dismaldreary that captures Mirana's elegance and grace, plus all the details in her intricate costume.
